1.14 A study was conducted to investigate the changes between 1973 and
1985 in women’s use of three preventive health services. The data were
obtained from the National Health Survey; women were divided into
subgroups according to age and race. The percentages of women receiv-
ing a breast exam within the past two years are given in Table E1.14.
Separately for each group, blacks and whites, display the proportions of
women receiving a breast exam within the past two years in a bar chart
so as to show the relationship between the examination rate and age.
Mark the midpoint of each age group on the horizontal axis and display
the same data using a line graph.
