What Are Geometric Transformations?
When something is “transformed” it is changed in one way or another. In
geometry, points, lines, and even entire polygons can be transformed on a
coordinate grid. Sometimes a transformation will result in movement in
one or two directions, but the size and appearance of the original figure will
remain the same. Other transformations will create a mirror image of an
object; other transformations will change a figure’s size.22
