Over to You

H

ello there. I am so thrilled

with how this cushion

has turned out – so much so

that I wanted to send in my

finished result to show you! I

love cross stitching, which is

a new-found hobby since the

breakdown of my marriage.

It has been my therapy and

continues to be so. This

pattern is from issue 273 of

the magazine. I hope you like

it as much as I do.

Sarah Payne, Essex

Emily: We love your cushion,

Sarah! It is lovely to see your

finished work and the cushion

fabric that you’ve chosen

to match. This cushion is so

stylish, it will look great in any

bedroom or living room.

This beautiful blue bird

with red buds and berries

is by Poppy Benner, and is

stitched on evenweave fabric.

We featured Poppy’s project

in a Christmas issue as a

crisp, wintry design, but it

will actually work well all year

round. For more bird designs,

turn to page 56.

FOR FALLEN HEROES

H

ere is my finished project called ‘Fallen Heroes’ taken

from issue 273, which I thought you might like to see.

As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to stitch it. I loved

every stitch, to remember all of those who gave their lives at

war. Thank you again for such a lovely piece to work on.

Samantha McCaughan, Yorkshire

Hannah: This Remembrance Wreath from

our November issue is both pretty and

poignant, Samantha. Perhaps

you have relatives or friends

that you wanted to pay

tribute to. Either way,

we loved seeing

your version of this

important message,

‘Lest We Forget’,

encircled with the

bright red poppies.

T

his is a picture of the sewing machine

cover, which was featured in issue 271.

I love to cross stitch, but my sewing machine

rarely comes out of the cupboard! After all

the hard work I put into making this design,

it seemed a shame to have it hidden away

covering my machine. So instead, I decided

to frame it. I thoroughly enjoyed stitching

this chart with all the wonderful colours.

Thank you for your lovely designs – I always

find something I want to stitch.

Linda West, Isle of Man

Tina: Wow, this looks great in a frame, Linda!

It really shows off all the pretty colours and

textures in the work, and the uplifting phrase

‘Sewing mends the soul’ is so true.

Perfect

Present

I

couldn’t resist sending

you this custom-made

cross stitch, which I made

for my best friend on her

wedding day.

It is a little keepsake

for her to remember

her special day with her

bridesmaids. It even got

a mention in the speech!

She had a wonderful

New Year’s Eve wedding,

and what a way it was to

welcome 2019!

Vicky Ambler, Leeds

Sue: Awesome, Vicky!

What a fab friend you

are to make this custom

design for your best bud.

You all look beautiful in

your evening glitz.
