Over to You

H

i there to The World of Cross Stitching team! This is my

completed cross stitch called ‘Creating a Buzz’ by Emma

Congdon, from issue 269 of the magazine.

I started it last summer but put it to one side to work on

other projects for Halloween

and Christmas, to get them

done in time. I’m thrilled

with the way this one has

turned out, and I love that

there’s so much detail. I give

a lot of my stitching away,

but I will be keeping this

one. It’s a reminder that

summer is finally here!

Yaina Davies,

via email

Tina: We love that you

dedicated your efforts to

getting this done because

you loved it so much – and

doesn’t the finished result

look bee-autiful? There is a

lot going on in this design

from Emma Congdon,

including fractionals and

backstitch, but the extra

effort is so worth it. Long

live those hard-working

honey bees!

Shine on

T

his is my latest Afghan blanket of

teapots and tea cups, which I just

finished. It looks very nice over the back of

my settee. I am now attempting another

blanket of large butterflies done in

blackwork, but using variegated threads.

Also, I have plans for a Japanese-themed

blanket and am poring through back issues

of your magazine for ideas and inspiration.

Janet Smith, Glenrothes

Sue: Great work! Wow, you like to go

large with your stitching, don’t you Janet?

It is so impressive – do send us a pic of your

finished butterfly and Japanese creations.

PERFECTLY POTTY ABOUT TEA POTS

THE HONEY BEE’S KNEES

T

his design from issue 275

reminds me of Disney’s

Pinocchio song, ‘When You

Wish Upon A Star’, which

in turn reminds me of my

grandad who passed 20 years

ago. I used iridescent aida to

add a bit more sparkle!

Sally Walker, Birstall

Emily: We love that this

is a daily reminder of your

grandad, Sally. It’s lovely.
