To create the effect of movement in the sea and the


ferocious, crashing waves against the lighthouse, Fiona


has used half stitches in two different directions. These are


listed separately on the key with the five shades of blue


thread used in half cross stitch in two strands facing right


with their own key symbols, and the same five shades of


blue thread used in half cross stitch in two strands facing


left have their own key symbols. Pay close attention to


which symbols are left or right half stitch.
