folder containing your missing file,
you’ll hopefully see it listed in the
main file pane. Select it and click
Preview for a text, image, or code
(hexadecimal) preview. If the file is
complete, check its box and click
Recover to save it elsewhere.
If the scan doesn’t find anything,
try clicking the ‘Advanced File
Recovery’ button for a deeper scan,
which may also identify lost and
formatted partitions. Once done,
files aren’t listed according to their
location, but by type. Simply expand
Raw Files in the navigation pane
and select the file type.
You won’t be able to identify a
file by its name, as these are simply
assigned by iCare Recovery as it
finds each file. Instead, you’ll need
to go through each one manually—
using its size as a rough guide—and
click Preview to see if your file is
identifiable and recoverable.
To save time re-scanning the
drive in future, click ‘Save Session’.
Then you can quit iCare Recovery
and click ‘Load Session’ to restore
it quickly again. A word of warning:
don’t wait too long before resuming
your search as further changes to
your drive are likely to wipe more

your missing files, you may be able
to recover at least some of your
files without having to pay upfront,
allowing you to see just how well
they have performed. You can then
gauge whether purchasing the data
