In this part...
You’ll find out about the various issues your company
needs to consider before taking the leap into the wild
green yonder, from the benefits you stand to reap from
voluntarily deepening your shade of green to the harm
you risk by insisting that the color you are now — what-
ever it may be — is just fine and dandy. You’ll explore the
three components in your company’s overall green rou-
tine: your people, processes, and products.
You’ll find out about watching over people, as OSHA
requires, to optimize your work areas, assess risks,
develop the best standard operating procedures, manage
and report incidents, inspect your various job sites, and,
of course, educate employees about health and safety
matters. You’ll then turn to processes — the array of
practices your company must engage in to successfully
account for the effect its operations have on the environ-
ment, consumer health, and employee safety. And finally
you’ll look at products, where you’ll find out about how
keeping your product-handling green will prepare you to
comply with existing and upcoming environmental
legislation.
