Vacuum Furnace
ALD Dynatech installed a high-vacuum
hardening furnace with high-pressure
gas quenching system at F TA’s (Fastener
Technology Aviation) manufacturing
plant in Izmir, Turkey. The multi-purpose,
environmentally friendly furnace is
ideally suited for hardening and brazing
applications under an oxygen-free
environment. Depending on part geometry,
quench pressure can be adjusted from gentle
cooling to high-pressure gas quenching up
to 6 bar. With auxiliary equipment installed,
the furnace can be used for annealing, stress
relieving, tempering and normalizing.

Pusher Tray Furnaces
Nutec Bickley received an order from
a major U.S. corporation for a new line
consisting of two pusher tray furnaces for
the process of investment casting. The
first furnace will be used to do a burnout,
heating the molds to a temperature of
1600°F (870°C). The second furnace will be
used to preheat the molds to a maximum
temperature of 2300°F (1260°C).

Automated Control Solution
Super Systems Inc. (SSi) and Sistemas
Superiores Integrales (SSi Mexico)
recently implemented a nitriding/ferritic
nitrocarburizing (FNC) automated control
solution for ETSA Group, an internationally
recognized heat treater serving customers
in Mexico since 1979. The control system
will provide precise control of temperature
and process gases including ammonia,
nitrogen and CO 2. With this setup, the
instrumentation and sensors will be used to
accurately control the process and provide
the required nitriding potential.
