the turn of American Charlie
Wittmack. His plan was to
undertake an eleven-month
10,000-mile world triathlon,
swimming the Thames and
the Channel, cycling from
France to Nepal and then
climbing Mount Everest.

connect Captain Webb’s
Channel swim and Edmund
Hillary’s ascent of Everest,’
