Response to an article on the
plans was mixed. One reader
commented, ‘Two words:
Weil’s disease’, but another
said they had spent their
childhood swimming in
London in the 1950s and even
‘learned to snorkel in the
Thames’.
By 2104 Studio Octopi’s
plans had changed; now there
would be one site, at
Blackfriars Bridge, and this
time they wouldn’t use
