I leave London Bridge and
head along the Thames Path
towards Tower Bridge but the
route is temporarily closed
and so I stop, not wanting to
take a detour right into the
Tower of London. I walk
down some steps to the shore
where waves lap around
ancient timber structures; two
heavily tattooed men are
roaming the beach while a
