front crawl – and I choose the
former. How anyone is going
to swim the whole way
breaststroke in a wetsuit I
have no idea, but I assume
they will be slower. I walk
backwards down a short, thin
ladder. The water is 20
degrees and feels amazingly
clean; there is no smell at all.
We’re told not to stretch
before getting in, but to do so
for a few minutes once we are
in the water. Then off we go.
