Downstream

Newbridge, southwest of
Oxford, and that’s where she
first went into the Thames to
swim, along with a friend – ‘I
squealed in barefoot from a
little mud beach, swam
upstream and then back. It
was a perfect summer’s day,
and the water was gentle.’
She then took part in an OSS
swim at Dorchester-on-
Thames followed by swims at
Port Meadow, Abingdon,
Buckland and Wallingford.
