£10,000 for WaterAid. In
2011 it was renamed the
Speedo Open Water Swim
Series and the following year
a non-wetsuit option was
introduced (if the water is
over 15 degrees). The event is
now billed as the UK’s
largest river swim, although,
as with all Thames events, the
actual dates are dependent on
