Walton-on-Thames. ‘My
grandfather, on leave from
the navy, used to dive off
Walton Bridge for coins
tossed from the boats,’ says
Ray Kennet. ‘There used to
be a lot of picnics, swimming,
musicians, all the poor people
enjoying themselves in the
water.’
