quarter-mile at Walton.
Club members were clearly
established swimmers. In
1906 they were competing in
the 150 yards championship
of London, where they
practised ‘the “crawl” stroke’.
Two years later they had
‘some of the fastest
swimmers in the south’ and
one member, S. Parvin,
