Simple carbohydrates are fast releasing energy producers.
They raise blood sugar levels quickly. More complex
carbohydrates have a less dramatic effect on blood sugar should
make up most of the carbohydrate intake. Consuming complex
carbohydrates or foods that affect blood sugar levels less
intensely reduces the risk of hypoglycaemia.
Early humans obtained about half of their calories from
carbohydrates, but these carbohydrates were rarely grains. Most
carbohydrates came from vegetables and fruit. Be aware that the
process of turning carbohydrates or starch into sugar leaves nasty
by-products of mucous and acid forming substances. These by-
products are one of the greatest causes of disease today. The
more carbohydrate based foods (bread, pasta, rice, baked foods
etc.) we consume, the more mucous builds up in our system
creating the perfect environment for disease to strike.
‘I have been eating bread, pasta and rice since I was
small, and I am perfectly healthy’. But are you truly healthy? Often
we do not know what real health actually is. Try fasting for three
days and if there are no de-toxification reactions, then you
probably are healthy or relatively free of disease. If the body has
become full of mucous and acid but is not given an opportunity to
clean itself from such toxins it means you are not full of health.
You may feel ‘normal’, however I guarantee that by cleansing
yourself of such toxins and moving onto a more raw, organic and
living food orientated diet you will not only live longer, but you will
live a happier, more energetic and stable lifestyle than you have
ever known. You can then truly know what health is.
