intake of omega-3 and omega-6 fats, as contained in hemp seed

In diabetes, the liver is unable to remove enough glucose,
causing it to over-pour into the urine. In hypoglycaemia
(overproduction of insulin) the liver converts too much sugar,
resulting in a lack of sugar to the bloodstream. Overproduction of
insulin is caused by too much sugar in the diet and stress.

The liver is an important part of the body’s mechanism that
helps in maintaining proper sugar levels, and can be damaged in
many ways such as by tobacco, alcohol, pollution and toxins. The
liver is capable of regenerating itself, but it does not need a break
to do this.

Refined sugar is by far the worst culprit of hypoglycaemia.
As we have learnt, table sugar is not the only form of sugar.
Processed starches also greatly contribute to the increased blood
sugar level. Once slice of commercial bread is the equivalent of
approximately five heaped teaspoons of sugar. To help prevent
hypoglycaemia we need to avoid sugar, processed starches,
stimulants and high protein sprouts, grasses, juices and fermented
foods. Small meals of this type taken often are best.

For optimum health it must be understood that at some
point you will choose to avoid all refined sugars, flour products, ice
cream, dairy products, fried foods, stimulants and animal proteins.
It also helps to leave out lentils and chickpeas (including sprouts),
dried fruits, starchy vegetables and wheat. There are many
recipes in this book that contain tasty foods not using the above
ingredients. Check out all those living food delights and you will be
surprised at how much better making the right dietary choices for
your body will make you feel.
