will find the oxygen helps promote a feeling of euphoria that can
substitute the effects of tobacco or other smoke.

 Texture


Food texture is also something we become used to and often
crave. Some of us frequently crave soft ‘melt in your mouth’
textured items. I personally have cravings for crunchy, savoury
foods. Products such as potato chips and biscuits were made to
specifically cater for such needs. Now I choose to enjoy roasted
hemp, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and dehydrated cracker
breads. If we really do require a potato snack, then sweetened
hemp seeds or banana and avocado with some cocoa and soft
hemp seeds will suffice. If the craving is for something acidic then
an avocado with some alfalfa sprouts may do the trick.


Nutrients, stimulants and textures are all natural cravings
that can be fulfilled in a healthy, balanced manner. However, there
is one factor that possibly outnumbers all these constituents as a
source of such cravings – problems of the mind. We all have
unstable, fluctuating minds. Yes, none of us, even The Dalai
Lama, have a totally still controlled mind, yet. We all have
emotions that overtake our senses at one time or another, and to
some extent this makes us human. We can try and understand the
source of such disturbances by looking within and making written
notes of times when such emotions have occurred in our life. Work
back through time as far as you can go. The source is often at this
point or a little further away, and identifying it takes effort.


The problem today is that we are in a hurried society were
we ‘do not have time’ to fix these problems. We choose,
consciously or not, to hide from them by working hard, and
keeping our minds busy. In this century we find it easier than ever
