The effects are only acid in the mouth until calcium creeps in and
the acid state is cancelled. Note that calcium comes from the pulp
of the citrus fruit. The acid is mainly from the juice. All whole raw
fruits are mildly alkaline or mildly acidic (including oranges,
grapefruits and other citrus fruits) in their effect on the body.
Juices are different and are often acidic unless mixed with their
pulp. All grains are acidic.
