Pranayama is best carried out early in the morning or at
dusk. Stand, or sit erect, and concentrate on expanding your
breath. A breath consists of four parts:


expulsion of foul air from the lungs

a brief pause before

drawing in fresh pure air and

the retention of air in the lungs to allow the exchange of
gases between the air and blood.


Each individual is able to control each stage of breath for
different lengths of time, but it must be noted that no exertion or
force should be used at any of these stages.


Naturecure air baths are as pleasant as sun baths. Air
baths involve walks in the mountain, in the fresh live air. They are
best taken regularly for short periods of time when there is a cool
breeze, and the fewer clothes you wear the better. Tight fitting
clothes around the waist block energy transfer from top to bottom
and bottom to top. Ideally, the clothes should be made of hemp or
other natural loose fitting fibres. Natural or white colouring is best.
You must also take care that soap used in washing clothes is
removed completely, else the detergents will be absorbed into the
skin and act as a poison.


Sleep

 and

 Relaxation


Sleep is nature's device for restoring lost vitality. It replenishes our
vital power. Deep sleep can only be had when one is relaxed, and
the less work one's body needs to get to this state, the less sleep
is needed.


To help prepare for a deep night's sleep try a hot foot bath
for 20 minutes. Cover the rest of the body well to induce sweating.
Finish with a cold foot bath for a few minutes. If you become too
hot then try sipping cold water very slowly. It is not advisable to
