helps stabilise blood sugar, a hemp seed fast as the Lord Buddha
was said to have had (one hemp seed a day), or a herb fast where
we supply our bodies with herbs and potions that help dissolve
and flush through the toxins found on the intestinal walls.
Remember that no matter what fast you decide is best for you, the
same number of days you fast, equals the number of days needed
for full recovery. Put aside this time to rest as you would during the
actual fast.
Why
Fast?
Removal
of
Toxins
Disease is caused by toxicity. Contamination in the body from
spoilt, processed, over-cooked and undigested foods is the main
cause of obesity, energy fluctuations and a poor state of general
well-being. The least damaging place for the body to store
contaminants is away from the important organs of the body, and
in muscles as fat. Cleansing the body from such contaminants
often leads to a healthy loss of weight.
Toxification of the body will have taken place over many
years of your life and therefore cannot be thoroughly cleansed in
one week. Diet change must also be gradual, to avoid the yo-yo
effect as well as to limit the potential pains of detoxification. Taking
it slowly is therefore essential.
Drugs may suppress some ailments but they usually
cause some toxic side effects that the body is least able to cope
with at this time. Drugs seem to make the true healing more
difficult as they often produce dietary deficiencies and lower the
immune system. Our bodies need to recover from the intake of
such substances after eventually being cured from the original
illness. Is it not easier to just prevent such problems from the
outset? Fasting is a part of many religions. We do not need an
excuse to fast.
Please note that any fast for longer than a day is
recommended to be carried out under the supervision of a trained
practitioner.
