overnight before eating. If you cannot wait, then pour boiled water

Why
Fast?
Constipation
This is probably number one reason, and reason enough for most
of us. How do you know if you are constipated? Symptoms include
foul breath, coated tongue, mental depression, loss of appetite,
dull feeling, headaches, indigestion, gas, bloating, skin eruptions,
ulcers, ringing in the ears, fatigue during the day. Most of these
are just nature's secondary way of eliminating wastes if the system
is obstructed.
When
Fast?
Spring is an ideal time, during which an abundant supply of fresh
young greens are available for post-fast foods. The most
beneficial times I have found to fast are over the full or new moon
and during the seasonal changes. Having specific times helps,
and following nature seems to work.

Colonics?
Before you begin a fast you may wish to try colonics. Colonic
irrigation is a method of washing out the colon or large intestine by
means of repeated, gentle flushing with warm water. References
to washing out the lower part of the intestinal tract are recorded
from as early as 1500 BC in a papyrus from ancient Egypt, in the
Gospel to the Essenes and in ancient Chinese and Indian writings.
