Massage


Massage is used all over the world. To 'massage' we need to be in
touch with our intuition. It is a natural, in-built healing ability that
draws us to rub an aching shoulder, and our desire to touch that
leads us to stroke our pet dog, cat or cuddle our children. Touch is
very natural to us and without it we can become depressed and
irritable. It has been proven that children brought up in families
where parents and children touch each other are healthier and
more able to withstand pain than children deprived of touch.


Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue of the body.
These 'manipulations' are most effectively performed with the
hands. Massage produces effects on the nervous and muscular
systems, and the local and general circulation of the blood and
lymph. Other benefits of massage include:


Deep relaxation of the mind and body
Relief from stress and tension
Toning of the muscles and increase in mobility
Improvement in circulation
Balance of the nervous system
Improvement in skin condition
Release of pain
Develops the power of touch
Treatment of specific conditions
