Proper breathing is induced by swimming, riding a bike
and other aerobic exercises including taking yoga classes.
Oxygen is the most abundant of the elements. Oxygen
makes up 8/9 of water and nearly a quarter of air (mixing with
nitrogen 22:78). Oxygen has actually been proven to eliminate
pain. If a professional injures himself playing sports you will often
find them continuing their game after an oxygen boost, as more
oxygenated muscles will be less painful. Deep breathing into the
pain and visualising it leaving the body really works.
Breath = Energy
Out breath = cleansing
In breath = energising
When concentrating on breath, focus on the point at the
back of the throat where the mouth and nostrils meet. This, the
area near the fifth chakra, helps reduce hunger and thirst.
Exercise 1
Stand with your feet about one foot apart, bend slightly at the
knees. Place one hand on your abdomen and one hand on your
chest. Inhale through your nose (our built-in filter) for a slow count
of five, filling your abdomen first and only when it is full, expand
your rib cage and fill your chest to a further count of four. Hold
your breath for five then exhale slowly through the nose, or mouth
if more comfortable to the count of nine. Notice how your rib cage
shrinks. Pull in your abdomen at the end of the last exhalation.
Repeat this 3-10 times, adding one more every day.
