Use leaves tossed in a salad and served with lashings of
hemp oil and a little lemon juice for a nourishing choice.
Don't forget that whatever salad you make, serve it with
garnishes to make that extra difference. And nothing tops a salad
with more style than some flowers! Choose from nasturtium,
geranium, lavender, violet, rosemary, elderberry (elderberry can
prevent flu and rheumatic pain), sage, thyme, chives, chamomile,
sorrel, rose petals and chrysanthemum to name but a few!
Young Okra is also popular in North Africa and the
Mediterranean. It is enjoyed as a good source of vitamins and
minerals. In Greece and Turkey okra pods are cut into chunks and
soaked in vinegar overnight to remove the slippery sensation.
