Pharaohs whose names wereread out to Herodotus by
the priests from a papyrus, and whoreigned till ' Mceris,'
identifiedby Diodorus of Sicily with' Mendes'or Smendes,
thatis, with Her-Hor. Accordingto the Manethonian lists
this Pharaoh cameto the throne 1 1 7 years beforeSheshenk,
B.C. 1065. The 330 Pharaohscan have reignedduringthe
Manethonianperiodof 3555 years,whichbeganwithMenes
andlasted fromB.C. 4620-1065.
