Cape Town, South Africa
Art festival dazzles
A major street art festival, described
as the largest in Africa, has taken place
in Cape Town, South Africa. The
International Public Art Festival 2022
featured huge murals (paintings on
walls) around the city, created by 15
artists. People watched as the murals
were painted and heard from the artists
who created them. The murals will add
to 133 street paintings that are already
on display from previous festivals.

Al Jafr Basin, Jordan
Ancient shrine found
A team of Jordanian and French
archaeologists (experts who study
ancient man-made objects to help
us understand history) have found
a 9,000-year-old shrine in the south
of the country. The shrine contained
two carved standing stones with
human-looking figures on them.
The shrine, which may have been used
to perform hunting ceremonies, is still
in good condition.

A group of players will each get a share of around £
million. The money should have been paid in the past by
US Soccer, which oversees the men’s and women’s teams.
