    Contains: an anonymous Byzantine Chronicle, which preserves an ab­
    stract of Old Testament history which represents in a closely parallel
    form a common part of other works closely related to one another.
    These go under the names of Symeon Logothetes, Leon Grammatikos,
    Theodosios Melitenos, and Julios Polydeukes. The name Julios Poly-
    deukes rests on a false title of Darmarios. The chronicle of pseudo-
    Polydeukes represents one recension of an original chronicle, while all
    of the others represent a second recension of which the chronicle of
