Treatment
See individual sections of this book for appropriate treatment. Always check for medication allergies and
pregnancy before selecting medication for treatment.


Patient Education
General: If fever does not respond to treatment in 3-5 days or symptoms progress seek further medical care
Activity: As tolerated unless patient requires isolation.
Diet: Regular; avoid alcohol.
Medications: Tylenol is preferred for symptom control but avoid if patient is jaundiced.
