of a wig. Thischapteris the only one in the Book of the Dead in
which it is referred to, but other religious textsmentionit. It is
one of the objects providedfor the deceased in the pictures of

wholetext which followsis extremely unsatisfactory. Theprudent
scribewho copied Pg has the words " I am the great god,"and with

- The passage is obscure through the absence of the right
determinativemnmr after **= " v. The portals of Shu, the
gates of Morning, answerthe summons of the god who comes as
