CHAPTERCI.

Chapterof the Safeguards of the Bark of Ra.

0 thou whoart devoid of moisture in coming forth fromthe
stream; and whorestestupon the deck of thy Bark : as thou pro-
ceedestin the direction of Yesterday, andrestestuponthe deck of
thy Bark, let me join thy boatmen.
1 am a powerful Chu.
O Ra, in that thy name of Ra, sincethoupassestthroughan
Eyeof seven cubits,whosepupilis of three : do thou then make
me sound, I am a powerful Chu,let thy soundness be my soundness.
O Ra, in that thy name of Ra, since thoupassest throughthose
whoare perishing headlong: do thou thenkeepme standing on my
feet. I am a powerful Chu,let thy soundness be my soundness.
O Ra, in that thy name of Ra, since thouopenestthe secrets of
the Ammehit, whichgladdeneththe hearts of the Divine Circle: do
thouthengiveme my heart. I am a powerful Chu,let thy sound
nessbe my soundness, andthe soundness of thy limbs be the sound
nessof my limbs.
Securedby reasonof the writing withgummixedwithcoloursupon
a strip of royalpapyrus,put at the throat of the deceased on the day of

one of the Divine Circle, andbe united to the folloivers of Horns,
whilsthis Lamp is made firm by Isis in heaven besideSothis. He

divineas well as human. Vegetationis made to grow out of his body
throughthe goddess Menkit.(2) He becometh a god for ever, andhis
limbsare made vigorousin the Nethcncorld throughThoth,whohath
