CHAPTERCI.Chapterof the Safeguards of the Bark of Ra.0 thou whoart devoid of moisture in coming forth fromthe
stream; and whorestestupon the deck of thy Bark : as thou pro-
ceedestin the direction of Yesterday, andrestestuponthe deck of
thy Bark, let me join thy boatmen.

O Ra, in that thy name of Ra, sincethoupassestthroughan
Eyeof seven cubits,whosepupilis of three : do thou then make
me sound, I am a powerful Chu,let thy soundness be my soundness.

Securedby reasonof the writing withgummixedwithcoloursupon
a strip of royalpapyrus,put at the throat of the deceased on the day of

whilsthis Lamp is made firm by Isis in heaven besideSothis. He
followcth Horus 7vho resideth in Sothis. (1) His Shade becometh
divineas well as human. Vegetationis made to grow out of his body
throughthe goddess Menkit.(2) He becometh a god for ever, andhis
