Without Disclosing My True Identity
The advanced humans responsible for our learning and development in mortality
were not going to allow us to have any excuses for our failure; nor would they take away
from the experience of what was intended for our mortality. In other words, they were not
going to reveal themselves to us. Even the enemies of Joseph’s work have admitted that, if
they (advanced beings) were to “touch” us in this state,
you would have received an empirical witness, and therefore your world
would never be the same. You would be “forced” to let go [of] some of your
vain and foolish ideas, and you would be “forced” to accept a reality that you
had not previously known. There would be no going back to the normal life
you once had, because you would have knowledge that no one else has.^13
Nevertheless, the time had now arrived when advanced monitors needed to
intervene for the sake of a fair and balanced mortal experience and to do something to
counter the power of the Bible and its branches of religion. This was not just for the sake of
those who believed in the Bible, but also according to the promises given from the
foundation of the world according to the earth’s established timetable. Therefore, to do what
they needed to, it had to happen at the right time, with the right people, and by choosing the
right person to make it happen without impeding anyone’s free will in any way. They
needed the right person, living in the right environment, with the right mindset. And their
choice from the foundation of the world was a young, white, American male given the birth
name of his father—Joseph Smith.
Finding a Way to Gain More Wisdom....................................................................................
Joseph Jr. was up most of the night of April 5, 1820, pondering many things. He
stayed up late with Alvin, listening to his older brother rant and rave about various topics
and the religious hypocrisy of the few friends Alvin had made in the state of New York.
Alvin had the Bible in hand, pointing out verse after verse showing the great hypocrisy of
religion. One of Alvin’s favorite verses, and the one that he opened the page to, was James,
chapter 1, verse 27:
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit
the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself
unspotted from the world.
“They haven’t a clue concerning their hypocrisy,”^14 boasted Alvin, as he handed the
Bible to Joseph.
Alvin went to bed and left Joseph peering at the book of James by the dim light of a
candle. As he began to read, Joseph didn’t get past verses 5 and 6 of the first chapter, which say:
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith,
nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with
the wind and tossed.^15
