Without Disclosing My True Identity
revealed to them. They are taught in symbolism and parables “because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”^48
During the presentation of the endowment, the participants see and hear Adam
praying and Lucifer answering his prayer. They see and hear God, the Father, who is not
anywhere near Adam to hear and answer his prayers, and who has nothing to do with
Adam while he exists in mortality. They see and hear that Elohim (God, the Father, as they
understand it) neither knows nor observes what is going on in the “lone and dreary
world.”^49 Elohim has to instruct Jehovah to send down messengers “to visit the man Adam
in the Telestial world, without disclosing their identity.”^50 Elohim instructs Jehovah
further, “Have them observe conditions generally; see if Satan is there, and learn whether
Adam has been true to the token and sign given to him in the Garden of Eden.” Elohim
finally instructs Jehovah to “Have them then return and bring me word.” Without
intervening upon the earth where Adam lives, Jehovah sends down his messengers.
Indeed, the most important part of the instructions to a messenger who is not to
disclose his true identity is to “observe conditions generally; see if Satan is there, and learn
whether Adam has been true to the sign and token given to him in the Garden of Eden.”^51
Here in plain English is the true meaning behind this symbolic presentation:
Men who have been chosen by advanced humans are not allowed to do anything
upon the earth but support the conditions as they generally exist. They are to observe
human nature and see if the people are treating each other badly (see if Satan is there) or
being true to their humane side by treating each other humanely (the sign and token of their
humanity). This humane side was a part of their foundationalization as newly created,
advanced human beings and what they received while living in an advanced human world
(the Garden of Eden).
The messenger is not supposed to cast Satan out yet (this happens later);^52 he is just
supposed to observe and “return and report.”^53 Of course, advanced humans already know
what is going on upon the earth, because of their advanced technological means of
observing and recording everything that happens.^54 Therefore, they don’t really need a
report from a mortal messenger. But, by reporting what is happening, the messenger
receives other mandates and instructions in how to deal with the people. In other words, the
messenger is the one who needs to “return and bring me word,” so that the messenger can
receive further instructions on how to deal with the people. At this point, it is also well to
remember that “God, the Father” is not the one personally overseeing us. It is his Overseer
(our Christ) and other advanced humans (“angels”) who are monitoring our doings.
So it is that the LDS/Mormon people see and hear all of these things presented to
them, but seeing, they do not see, and hearing, they do not understand. And what do
they not see or understand? Joseph taught them exactly what protocol is used by the
advanced humans that intervene into their mortal lives. It is taught through the
symbolism of the endowment that the advanced humans do not answer the people’s
prayers. They never interact directly with mortals, but allow mortals to be left on their
own, as was intended for their days of probation. Hence, “Lucifer,” who in reality is their
own flesh, hears and answers their spoken prayers according to the desires of their
“Holy Ghost” (hearts or consciences; i.e., their common sense).
Nor do those who receive the endowment understand what they see and hear in the
next part of the endowment, when the messenger asks Adam, “Have you any signs or
tokens?”^55 To which Lucifer immediately interjects before Adam responds, “Do you have
