Without Disclosing My True Identity
Perhaps if their hearts were not kept so busy being set upon the things of the world and aspiring
to the honors of men,^42 they would take the time to search for truth. Mormons, above all
religious constituents, have no excuse for their ignorance. Again, their own scriptures teach
them that they must “consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of
humility, or [God] will not open unto them”^43 —but first, they must knock!
Like the Jews who followed Moses in the stories of the Old Testament, the Mormon
people refuse to search for answers themselves, but resolutely depend upon their leaders to
get the answers for them. It should be clear to reasonable people that the answers
LDS/Mormon leaders deliver to their followers have no determinate source other than what
is established within the body of their own words—the philosophies of men mingled with
scripture (i.e., the leaders simply ‘make up’ the answers). Except for Joseph, not one other
leader has ever claimed to receive instructions by direct word-of-mouth from advanced
human beings. For a wise purpose, the Book of Mormon prophesies that Joseph Smith would
be “like unto Moses”^44 —that he would give the people who desired to “worship a golden
calf” exactly what they wanted.
Detailing the First Visitation
Joseph was under strict mandate not to disclose any details about the First Visitation to
anyone, until the people first learned the principles of proper human conduct. During Joseph’s
lifetime, and until the year 2004,^45 no mortal upon the earth knew the real truth about the
incident. Even the disclosure made to this author, by Joseph himself on December 23, 2004,
giving more accurate details of it, was still not a full declaration of what actually occurred.
The reason why the fullness of the real truth was not given to the people of the earth
was because they chose not to abide by the basic and simple principles of the gospel given
to them by the one who visited Joseph. Therefore, until they would give “heed and diligence to
the portion of his word which he doth grant unto [them]...[they received] the lesser portion of the
word until they knew nothing concerning” the things that were told to Joseph.^46
Jesus, known more properly as “Christ,” visited Joseph on April 6, 1820. Because of
the magnitude of that event, this date never left Joseph’s mind and heart. He later used the
date to forever commemorate another event^47 that was paramount in continuing to give the
people the lesser portion of the word because of their neglect in giving heed and diligence to
Christ’s true gospel. On this same date, exactly ten years from the date of the First Visitation,
history has noted that Joseph legally established the Church of Christ,^48 which epitomized
what constitutes the “lesser portion.”
It will be disclosed throughout this biography how the LDS Church became one of
the greatest stumbling blocks to the people who desired it. Joseph attempted to teach the
people what Christ had told him and that which was plainly presented as the words of
Christ in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. But instead, the people
despised the words of plainness...and sought for things that they could not understand.
Wherefore, because of blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark,
they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered
unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And
because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.^49
