Without Disclosing My True Identity
The Book of Mormon illustrates its own version of the events Columbus described above:
And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me, saying: Look! And I looked
and beheld many nations and kingdoms. And the angel said unto me: What
beholdest thou? And I said: I behold many nations and kingdoms. And he
said unto me: These are the nations and kingdoms of the Gentiles. And it
came to pass that I saw among the nations of the Gentiles the formation of a
great church. And the angel said unto me: Behold the formation of a church
which is most abominable above all other churches, which slayeth the saints
of God, yea, and tortureth them and bindeth them down, and yoketh them
with a yoke of iron, and bringeth them down into captivity. And it came to
pass that I beheld this great and abominable church; and I saw the devil that
he was the founder of it. And I also saw gold, and silver, and silks, and
scarlets, and fine-twined linen, and all manner of precious clothing; and I saw
many harlots. And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the gold, and the
silver, and the silks, and the scarlets, and the fine-twined linen, and the
precious clothing, and the harlots, are the desires of this great and
abominable church. And also for the praise of the world do they destroy the
saints of God, and bring them down into captivity.^16
The Peaceful People Belong to the “Church of the Lamb”
There should be no doubt in the reader’s mind which people comprise groups one
and two; i.e., what type of people belong to each of the “save two churches only.” There is
only one group of people who, “for the praise of the world...destroy the saints of God, and
bring them down into captivity”: the European Christians. The other, comprised of the
Native Americans that Columbus encountered, as well as other so-called “uncivilized”
indigenous peoples, had the ability to create societies as “gentle as lambs.” These lived more
Christlike lives than any Christians. Many of these groups of aboriginal people were taught
by Mathoni and Mathonihah, who, themselves, were taught the “everlasting gospel” by the
Savior himself.
Life in America during the early 18th Century was hard. Land had to be owned,
cultivated, and managed. Money had to be obtained to purchase things. Gold and silver had
to be found to exchange it for coined money or use it as money directly, according to the
weight and purity, as agreed upon by the parties involved. Business ventures and land
speculation increased. The stress of the average American-European was very high and this
stress continued to grow as the American culture continued to desire “gold, silver, silks, and
fine-twined, precious clothing.”
Those Held Captive by the “Beast” or “Church of the Devil”
Before the Europeans came to the Western Hemisphere, much of the Native
American way of life, outside of the great cities of South America, was virtually stress free.
Eventually however, the stress and demands of the “church of the devil” spread across the
Americas and most Native South and North Americans were incorporated into American-
and Capitalistic-inspired western culture, consequently joining the “church of the devil”
also. They, too, contributed to the enslavement, not only of themselves in being forced to
