(^53) “The doctrines of achievable personal holiness, attainable universal salvation, the true
spiritual unity of all baptized persons, living and dead, in the ‘Body of Christ’, the possibility of
rapture without dying, and the necessity of the fourfold ministry directed by Apostles for perfecting
the Church as a whole, formed the cornerstones of the theology.” See Wiki article in n. 52 above.

  1. “This text was first published as part of the ‘History of Joseph Smith’ in the September 4, 1852 Deseret
News. It was first included in the 1981 Doctrine and Covenants as a precedent of Section 138, which was
added at the same time.” (J. Stapley, “Doctrine & Covenants 108–110, 137” [Notes for Seattle Area, Winter

printed in the LDS Doctrine & Covenants.
For example, D&C, section 137 once contained the revelation of 13 October 1882 given
through John Taylor, calling George Teasdale and Heber J. Grant to the apostleship. That revelation
was published as follows: D&C, 137, German edition, SLC printing 1893, second edition; 1903 Berlin
printing, third edition; Danish 6th edition, SLC printing, 1900; Swedish first edition, 1888, SLC
printing; and 1928 second edition, Stockholm edition. These editions were never circulated in the
United States. (A similar occurrence took place with D&C, section 138 as well, which was a revelation
given through John Taylor on 14 April 1883 concerning the organization of the Seventies. See also
    CHC, 6:107–8.)
