Place the point of the awl on the mark that
you made^1 ⁄ 16 ” from the top point of the leaf
shape and use a hammer to firmly strike the
top of the awl once to make a pilot hole for
drilling the hole into the leaf shape.
6.Using a^1 ⁄ 16 ” drill bit, drill a hole into the leaf
shape using a handheld rotary tool, flex
shaft, or drill press (don’t forget your safety
glasses).
7.Use the file or sanding pad to eliminate any
burs or rough edges left from drilling the
hole into the leaf shape.
8.After you drill the hole for attaching the leaf
shape to the leather cord, you will measure
and mark on the leaf shape where you will
be drilling holes to run the wire with the
seed beads on it through the leaf shape.
Measure^1 ⁄ 16 ” down from the hole that you
just drilled for the jump ring and place a
mark on the leaf shape. Measure^1 ⁄ 16 ” from
the bottom point of the leaf shape and mark
that spot.
