Books
The Complete Metalsmith: An Illustrated Handbook,
by Tim McCreight, published 1982, ISBN

0871921359. This is Denise’s favorite, and the first
jewelry instruction book she ever purchased.
It has been with her from the beginning. It is well
worn and much used and is always within arm’s
reach. Newer versions of this book have been
published, one in 1991, and others even more
recently, but this is the one Denise uses every day.

Many other books are available for all experience
levels. Look through several and decide which form
of instruction fits you best. Referral from other
jewelry makers, or word of mouth, is also a good
way to find books. You can pick up tips and ideas
in every book you read, so all have merit.
