14.Repeat this step on the second pearl and
silver bead. Set these aside.
15.Place a head pin through the hole drilled
into one end of the rectangle wire “C” shape
with the bottom or flat end on the inside
curve of the rectangle wire “C” shape. Use
the ruler to measure and mark the head pin
(^5) ⁄ 16 ” above the rectangle wire. With wire cut-
ters or tin snips, cut the head pin wire^5 ⁄ 16 ”
above the top of the rectangle wire.
16.Use the chain nose pliers to bend the head
pin wire next to the rectangle wire at a
90-degree angle.
17.With the chain nose pliers in one hand, hold
the bottom or flat area of the head pin firmly
against the rectangle wire with the head pin
wire that you bent pointing toward you.
With your other hand, use the round nose
pliers to grip the end of the head pin wire
and roll it away from you. Release the head
pin wire. At this point, the opening in the
loop of the head pin wire should still be
large enough to slip the end link of the 1"
chain onto it. Now add the chain to the loop
of the head pin, and then use the round nose
pliers to grasp the loop of the head pin wire
and roll it closed. You can use the round nose
or chain nose pliers to adjust the shape of
the loop at the top of the head pin.
