of aspects of Japanese culture. During the same
year, he was awarded the Charles Pratt Memorial
Fellowship, USA.
Graham continued to photograph and exhibit reg-
ularly throughout the mid and late 1990’s, and in
1996 his work up to that date was published by Phai-
don as part of the publisher’s Contemporary Artists
Series. In 1999, a new body of work was published,
End of An Age, and in 2000 a catalogue,Paintings,
was also produced. In 2001, Graham represented
Britain in the 49thVenice Biennale. Photographing
in the United States, he is still based in London.

Born Stratford, England 1956. Graduated Bristol Univer-
sity, Bsc. in Microbiology, 1978; no formal education in
