everywhere: Become aware of what you think, feel , and believe , and
thus do (in other words, your truth), because it matters. We are
co - creators with the Creator of the Universe, so we might as well
remain mindful of this wonderful gift and use this power wisely.

Journalize: Tap into Your Spirit

I invite you to take this opportunity to explore whatever feel-
ings have come up for you. Many people struggle with delin-
eating the difference between spirituality and religiosity. This
is often due to their distress and guilt about their religion ’ s
history, the pain they experienced as a result of the behavior
of their early spiritual or religious teachers, or childhood con-
fl icts with their parents ’ religious beliefs and practices and the
memories they have unconsciously chosen to retain from
these. If you have a strong emotional response to this topic, it
is a great opportunity for you to heal in this area. Maintaining
walls around your heart harms you more than you know. If my
simple introduction of the subject of spirituality and religion
triggers in you a physical sensation of resistance, I ’ ll ask you at
this time to examine the source of this pain or fear and open
yourself to heal it at the root.

Day 17: Nondominant Hand Journalizing on Your Spiritual
Health and/or Your Religious Discipline

Create a quiet space with approximately twenty minutes of unin-
terrupted time to journalize your thoughts and feelings about your
spiritual health and religious practice. Place the pen in your domi-
nant hand and write a spiritually directed question, such as “ How
do I feel spiritually at this time — grounded and peaceful with my
relationship with the Divine, or disconnected, angry, or confused? ”
or “ If I could speak with the Creator, would I care to address some
unresolved issues or have a few questions answered? ”
