are many causations. Holy Scripture also contains many other nug-
gets of truth that can help us understand how to pursue our healings
and shifts in consciousness. I ’ m particularly fond of Acts 3:1 – 10:

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the
time of prayer, at three in the afternoon. Now a man crip-
pled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called
Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going
into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to
enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him,
as did John. Then Peter said, “ Look at us! ” So the man gave
them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
Then Peter said, “ Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have
I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. ”
Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly
the man ’ s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his
feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the
temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

Even those without a Christian belief system will likely fi nd this
story interesting from a psychological and quantum physics perspec-
tive. The man who was crippled from birth is invited to look up, rather
than remain fi xated on his handicap, and give his attention to those
who are aware of their spiritual source and desirous of giving him a
hand up. Whether you hear this with a Christian ear or appreciate it
as an example of a quantum (physics) leap in consciousness, it is a
lesson that we have all needed at some point in our lives. We need to
keep our eyes raised upward, looking for our resurrective opportuni-
ties, rather than focused on our limited and scarcity - based history.
Seeking loving, mature people of God has assisted my spiritual
growth and healing as much as any tool I have employed. I seek
their wisdom, as well as their healing gifts.
My dear spiritual confi dant Vernon Tyson elaborated, “ Sin is a
great separator from ourselves, our families, our environment, our
roots, our fruits; it is a separator. Sin is missing the mark; it is less
than the best. If you ’ re settling for something less than the best,
