having to start.
Journalizing is defi nitely an empowering and rewarding
experience; my favorite time to write is before I go to sleep
because usually it is a quiet and precious time. My jour-
nal is playing an important role in my weight loss and life-
style change — which I already consider a success. I write
about facts and feelings, and this helps me think, explore,
understand, and heal. And keeping my journal has helped
me change my attitude toward food. I used to eat when
happy, sad, stressed... now I eat my meals and enjoy every
single one. Now I understand and experience things that I
once thought were too hard or too silly to try — like being
more active, making better food choices, or journalizing.
Before going to the Rice Diet Program, I did not cook at
all. Now, I cook every time I can, actually enjoy it, and
even create my own recipes! The difference is that I have
now adopted a healthy lifestyle, and what really matters
is the steady long - term results. I truly believe this dieta is
the answer to all of my years of dieting. Thanks to all the
great support from the doctors and the wonderful staff at
the Rice Diet Program, this is possible. I am facing “ Project
Raquel ” with passion, responsibility, and discipline. I set a
goal, and I know I will accomplish it.

In modern industrialized societies, it is rare that anyone is in a
place of optimal health. Indeed, most of us are in need of healing —
whether from some sort of physical ailment, such as a weight
problem, or from a mental impairment, an emotional trauma, a

sonal and professional experiences with disease, I ’ ve started to view
all ailments as incredibly similar, while also being unique to each
