to foods that are rarely known to cause allergies, then introduce
one new food at a time per day and take note. Because the most
common foods that are thought to cause allergies include peanuts,
dairy, wheat, corn, eggs, and soybeans, the Rice Diet is a great
opportunity to identify and eliminate your problem food, if aller-
gies are an issue for you. From this list of foods most likely to cause
allergies, only wheat and corn are served at the Rice Diet Program.
Therefore, it is quite simple not to select the grits, the shredded
wheat, the pasta, or the cream of wheat, and if the allergic response
you thought was due to wheat or corn goes away, you may decide
that these grains are not worth the side effects you experienced.
Although the Basic Rice Diet is not recommended for more
than one day per week, unless you are medically supervised here
on the program, the Vegetarian Plus Dairy (or rice or soy dairy sub-
stitutes) days are recommended for as long as you like, with a daily
multivitamin/mineral and calcium supplement, for great detox
results. In previous books I detailed how animal proteins, in addition
to the dairy serving, should be limited to three ounces per week until
a person reaches his or her ideal body weight. I ’ m now inviting you to

We highly recommend that you follow the Basic Rice Diet only
one day per week , to safely enjoy the results of the Rice Diet at
home. Although the Basic Rice Diet is a powerful detox experi-
ence because it is optimally and naturally nutrient - dense and fi ber -
rich, and includes no trigger ingredients such as sodium, refi ned
foods, and sugar, it is too low in sodium to safely follow for more
than one day per week without our medical supervision. But it is
well worth the discipline for you to experience this regenerative
and enlightening day, because it almost instantly gives you a height-
ened awareness of the answers to certain essential questions about
when, where, and why you habitually turn to food to squelch your
stress and undesirable emotions.
