LAMB
The Lamb was an older, alternate name for the sign Aries. The animal that came to
replace the Lamb in contemporary astrology is the Ram.

LANCELOT
Lancelot, asteroid 2,041 (the 2,041st asteroid to be discovered, on September 24,
1960), is approximately 19 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of 5.6
years. Lancelot was named after the knight of the Round Table. According to J. Lee
Lehman, this asteroid “represents glory thrust on the individual, not due to any per-
sonal qualities or actions, but simply from being in the right place at the right time.”
Schwartz gives Lancelot’s associations as “heroic actions resulting from good fortune
rather than effort.”

LATITUDE
Latitude (properly called terrestrial latitude) refers to a location’s distance from the
equator. Celestial latitude refers to the angular distance (distance measured in degrees
and minutes of an arc) that a planet or other celestial body is located above or below
the ecliptic. One can also talk about galactic latitude, which is the distance above or
below a plane drawn through the center of the Milky Way, as well as heliographic lati-
tude, which is the distance north or south of the Sun’s equator. Clearly, the notion of
latitude can be extended to any celestial body.

THELAW ANDASTROLOGY
Laws from the near and distant past still restrict professionals who forecast the future,
but astrologers are successfully challenging the laws across America, in Europe, and in
South America that inhibit their profession. Major court cases have been won in the
United States, and dozens of cities have changed their laws on “fortune-telling” or the
“occult arts.” The Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN) is committed to
overturning every law that overly restricts the practice of astrology.
