VIRTUS

Virtus, asteroid 494 (the 494th asteroid to be discovered, on September 7, 1902), is
approximately 98 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of 5.2 years. Its
name is a personification of the Latin word for “virtue.” In a natal chart, Virtus’s house
and sign position indicates where in life one displays virtue in the original sense of
power and excellence. When afflicted, Vera may signal false virtue.

VISAKHA

Visakha (forked or spreading branches) is one of the Nakshatras (lunar mansions) of
Vedic astrology. Indragni, both deities Indra and Agni combined, presides and the
planet Jupiter rules over this decorated gateway moon sign found from Libra 20° to
Scorpio 3°20’. Considered a good sign for construction, land deals, and the like, peo-
ple in Visakha will be quite clever and enterprising, though overly talkative and
greedy at times.

VOCATIONALASTROLOGY

The two most frequently asked questions in astrology relate to relationships and
careers. Of these, career exploration combines the best of traditional astrological
methods with the best of modern psychological astrology. In addition, Vedic astrology
includes very specific data about the type of career one may pursue.

Exploration of the career includes several factors in the natal chart:
Individual creative capacity.Everyone is creative; vocational astrology looks at
creativity as it impacts career choices.
The careers that suit the individual chart. These reflect the planets, sign, and
aspects related to the tenth house and its rulers.
The actual workplace and the people found in it, reflected by the sixth house and its
rulers. This includes the geographic location, the type of building, and the
location within the building where one works.
The source of one’s personal income, reflected by the second house and its rulers.
This house also includes money management, material goods, and self-
esteem.
