> How we tested

We drained an iPhone X and XR before each

charge. Background App Refresh was

disabled, no apps were left open, and the

screen was turned on only to check the

battery percentage at regular intervals. We

took readings at 30–minute intervals until the

battery level reached 85%, 15–minute

intervals until 95%, every five minutes until

98%, and then every minute until 100%.

We recorded the battery levels every 30 minutes,

then put the phones back to sleep.
