The Zodiac Signs
The Sun is the Self
The Sun is said to represent "The Self," but a self
usually seen—and better viewed, as mentioned
above—at some distance. It is the self we may want to
be, or who we can become, in time. It is that idea of our
self we look up to when we are young, who we try to
become as adults, and what we probably look back
upon as we get older. It shines in the center of all our
lives.
By "center of our lives," I mean that we see the Sun
shining bright as our future self when we are young; we
look up to it in youth. We somehow seem to merge with
it in our prime, and it is still the center of what we
remember and know ourselves to be as we grow older.
In other words, the Sun shines! And the Sun is shining
not just up in the sky out there, but astrologically, in
here—within us. It is the Sun. Nothing compares to it.
