Unicode
home.unicode.org
Emoji may be a modernform of
communication, but untilrecently the
websitefor Unicode – the not-for-profit
organisation that governs emoji
standards –was stuck in the Nineties.
Thankfully, thisredesign deserves a big
smileyface rather than a great pile of
poop. Aswell as explaining what Unicode
is about, showcasing a selection of
characters and bringing the latest news,
it explains howto submityour own emoji
proposal. Click the emoji link on the front
pageto see the selection criteria and
technical information.You caneven
adopt a Unicode character.

Warner Classics
Fans of classical music are sureto be in
tune withWarner’s relaunched Classics
and Erato website. New releases and
videos are easierto find, even though the
site has dropped the news section, but
aside from the new drop-down menu,
the big difference is the addition of
streaming.You can listen to 30-second
clips from thecompany’s cataloguefor
free, and ifyou ha ve an Apple Music or
Deezer ac count, you can hear full
recordings and curated playlists. Most
songs areavailable via Spotify,too,
althoughwe found that not all artists
made their musicavailable in thisway.
Footie Trader
footietrader.com
Footballfans are a nostalgic bunch, and
what betterway is thereto relive the
memories thanto get hold of some
vintage gear?This marketplacefor
memorabilia scores highly because it
allows both buy-it-now and auction
listings.With clear trading pages,PayPal
payments and filtersfor condition, price
range, year and brand, it’s a real winner.
You can’t filterby club, whichstrikes us
as odd, and theway it handlesPayPal is
a little clumsy, but listing items is easy.
Only a handful of sellers are involved at
the moment, but the site is sureto
attract more supporters.
